Breaking a Affenpinscher's Bad Habits

Conditioning a affenpinscher to lose bad habits is not the easiest task to overcome. But, it's all in the timing. All affenpinscher owners should not expect to bring a affenpinscher home and not have to train it. Affenpinschers are verisimilar to people. They have personalities that may compel them to act in a particular way. Consequently, patience coalesced with kind firm discipline is necessary for teaching and old or new affenpinscher new tricks.

Border collies are excellent at herding. But they don't descriminate between livestock and other things. This makes them great at things like fly-ball, obedience, tracking, fetching, Frisbee toss, and sheep herding. Sometimes they get out of hand though, several border collies have been known to try to herd small groups of children!

Use these tips, tricks and strategies to discourage unacceptable behavior:

The Broholmer is a breed that is recognized only in Denmark. It was thought extinct in the 1960's but, in December of 1974, a purebred Broholmer popped up in Finland. This dog was a male, and the owners hoped to find a female for him to mate with, but it never happened. While still recognized as a breed, an example has yet to appear again.

1) When your affenpinscher behaves or commits an intolerable act, give him or her a deep, short growl. The growl is effective because it emulates the canine's mother. Just as the pup's mother would confront the affenpinscher face to face with the growl, you should do the growl in your puppy's face to discourage the unwanted behavior.

The largest breed of dog that is recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Irish Wolfhound, which stands thirty to 30 to 35 inches at the top of the shoulders and weighs 105 to 125 pounds.

2) If your puppy or new affenpinscher continues the behavior, repeat the growl. However, the second one should be a little louder but not any longer than the first growl.

The name bernese mountain dog is a rough translation of the German "berner sennenhund", which literally means "bernese alpine herdsman's dog". The breed's original name was "durrbachler", after an inn where these farm dogs were bought and sold.

3) In cases where your affenpinscher continues to behave poorly, snap at the canine in the fashion a affenpinscher. In other words a short bursting growl followed by a snapping of your teeth.

Most adult Borzoi (russian wolfhounds) are almost mute. They bark only very rarely. They are gentle, sensitive dogs with gracious house-manners and a natural respect for humans. Their quiet nature makes them an ideal pet for families with children.

Amongst DOG trainers, the emulation of DOGS is the subject of great controversy. Most affenpinschers will not outgrow poor behavior without the guidance of rules. Many trainers consider it a negative form of discipline to act like a canine to enforce discipline. However, other DOG advocates consider it an effective way to demonstrate authority without raising one's voice.

The basenji could really be considered more like a cat than a dog. Not only is it the only breed of dog that does not bark, but is also a meticulous cleaner. Unlike other dogs, the basenji actually licks itself clean, just like a cat!

Other trainers recommend discouraging poor behavior by giving a affenpinscher a sniff. Since it demonstrates that the owner is the elder or alpha, it can catch your affenpinscher or puppy off guard and make them aware that is the subordinate.

The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.
