How To Stop My Affenpinscher from Fighting with Other DOGS

If you have a affenpinscher with some behavior or territorial issues, you may have your work cut out for you when it comes to teaching your affenpinscher to stop fighting with other DOGS. Keep in mind before you go any further, that in many cases, aggressive behavior in a affenpinscher is a result of fear.

Many people will swear that they own a golden labrador. The problem is that golden labradors do not exist! There is no purebred dog called a golden lab. The dog is probably either a golden retriever or a labrador retriever.

Work with your affenpinscher, first on obedience basics, using commands such as sit, stay, heel, and 'no'. Don't punish your affenpinscher, though reinforce and reward good behavior. When that step has been accomplished, take your affenpinscher out for walks along quiet neighborhood streets where interaction with other people or DOGS isn't likely. Get your affenpinscher used to being around others, without them being too close.

While adult dalmations are covered in cute black spots, dalmation puppies are actually born solid white. Their spots don't show up until they are at least a week old. Sometimes not until they are a month old.

Carry DOG treats in your pocket to immediately reward your affenpinscher for good behavior and responding to your commands. When approaching other DOGS or people, place yourself between your affenpinscher and others. Grasp the leash tightly and pull the DOG leash sideways as the DOG approaches, keeping your affenpinscher at a distance. Pulling his or her leash sideways will keep your affenpinscher unbalanced, while allowing you greater control.

There is absolutely no difference between an Australian silky terrier, silky toy terrier and a silky terrier. They are all the same breed, but have different names in different countries, specifically in Australia, Canada and the United States.

Carry something that will distract your affenpinscher when he or she sees another DOG approaching, but don't yell or scold your affenpinscher to behave before the other people even near you. Maintain an even pace, always talking to your affenpinscher in low, soothing tones, and urge him to respond to you instead of approaching DOGS or people. Reward him or her immediately with a treat when he makes eye contact with you.

The Giant Schnauzer is known in german as "Riesenschnauzer", meaning "the giant". It should closely resemble the other Schnauzers, miniature and standard. However, they are really completely unique and unrelated breeds. They have just developed in such a way, over time, that they look similar to each other.

Other people dealing with difficult situations like affenpinscher aggression often introduce their affenpinscher to a passive pooch in a new location. This will alleviate any need for territoriality with your affenpinscher, and the non-aggressive temperament of the other affenpinscher may serve to teach your affenpinscher that others affenpinschers don't always imply a threat. Of course, have the other affenpinscher owner holding tightly to their affenpinscher and remain calm and unthreatening as well.

Be aware of the first signs or signals of aggression in your affenpinscher toward others. Staring at an approaching DOG or person, hackles raised, and stiff legs and tail should alert you that your affenpinscher is in an aggressive mode. Calmly give the approaching DOGS or people plenty of room while speaking to your affenpinscher in upbeat and soothing tones, and then reward your affenpinscher after the brief meeting has passed.

The Japanese Chin, also known as the Japanese Spaniel, is considered to be one of the most cat-like of the dog breeds when it comes to attitude. It is alert, intelligent, and often independent. Also, like a cat, it uses its paws to wash its face.

The key to changing any behavior in a affenpinscher is patience. New lessons won't be learned overnight, and may take days, or even weeks, to see signs of progress. Reassure your affenpinscher that he or she is loved and make sure you lavish them with plenty of attention after each outing. However, if your affenpinscher continues to express aggressive behavior after all attempts by you to correct such behavior have failed, consider taking your affenpinscher to an obedience class that specializes in aggressive affenpinscher behavior.

The official name of the dogs we call pitbulls is the American staffordshire terrier. Pitbulls have been the preferred pet of many famous people including Fred Astaire, Vin Diesel, Alicia Silverstone, Michael J. Fox, and James Caan.

The role of Toto, the male dog in the Wizard of Oz was actually played by a female Cairn Terrier named Terry. Cairn terriers are known for their brightness and cuteness. That, combined with their small size, made the breed perfect for the role.

Part of the reason that basset hounds have such a unique look is that the British purposely bred basset hounds to have short legs, so that hunters could keep up with them. Unfortunate this has caused the breed to be prone to leg/joint problems.

One of the weirdest dog births on record involves a Siberian Husky. The mother's name was Pixie and she gave birth to 7 puppies, which isn't unusual. The unusual part was that one of the puppies was born bright green!
